It's a well-known fact, Benzitos, that I basically didn't post anything during April or May.

But imma make it up to you: got 30 photos here from those pre-topless months, in chronological order, that are guaranteed to bring you mostly up to date.

You'd rather see me in the pen

Than me and Lorenzo, rollin' in a Benzo

It's always fun to see my 500 Benz brothers and sisters out and about on the mean streets of L.A., and I ran into a special one today on an errand downtown.

I usually erase license plates from photos, but I'm sure my man Lorenso here won't mind that I'm putting this one on blast.

Two red circles to talk about here before I collapse from exhaustion due to strenuous automotive journalism:

1) It was 77 degrees today.

2) Whenever I see a roughly 2000-2006 Mercedes 500 of any sort, my mind inevitably wanders to the conundrum that is the M113 V8.

I've already covered the 500 Benz's ability to haul pizza, but what about furniture?

Well, as this resourceful Mainer demonstrated on 95 South last summer, at least one chair almost fits if you leave the trunk lid open.

There presumably aren't many ballers out there who have owned both a fifth-generation Honda Prelude and a 500 Benz, but stylistically, at least, I see a lot of overlap.

Come on, look at my old Prelude next to this 40th Anniversary SL500, and tell me Honda didn't have 500 Benzes on the brain when they designed that car.

Actually I don't, with apologies to the lovely family and friends I left behind when I got the hell out of that nasty, brutish (read: alternately cold/windy and humid/buggy) place about 15 years ago.

But when I came across this 500 Benz in Kennebunkport, Maine, on a visit last summer, it reminded me how badly I want a set of these particular (and sadly quite rare) 18-inch AMG "monoblock" wheels.
